IN THE SHADOW OF THE SONIC TITAN
September 19 – October 5
Opening reception Friday, September 19 6-8PM
spector ripps project space

DEEP SLUMBER LAKE: In the Shadow of the Sonic
Titan is the first solo show for collaborative duo Zac
Scheinbaum and Todd White. In the Shadow of the
Sonic Titan presents a different type of “fine art:” one
heavily based in the metal music genre. The show will
include large-scale ink drawings, watercolors, video,
and various other works on paper and felt. With a sound
installation, the viewer will become immersed in the
sights and sounds of DEEP SLUMBER LAKE.
DEEP SLUMBER LAKE draws from timeless myths and
symbols infused with contemporary references, youth
subcultures, and self-mockery. DEEP SLUMBER LAKE
explores, validates, and de-bunks the interests, desires,
and stereotypes within Zac Scheinbaum and Todd
White’s artistic milieu.
California native Todd White is a recent graduate of the
School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and of Tufts
University. New Mexico native Zachary Scheinbaum
attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston,
and is now finishing his BFA at the College of Santa
Fe. Scheinbaum is also an independent artist and is
currently an apprentice at Four Star Tattoo, Santa Fe’s
premier tattoo studio.

HUSK IND produced some limited shirts and an edition of prints for the opening (also to be released via the new HUSK estore in a few weeks).
