Vertical Gardening... Get into it!

This past weekend I took some time off to enjoy the nice weather with my old lady. Which in most cases (as in this one) is accompanying her while she shops. Definitely not one of my favorite things to do (shopping that is), but I've become somewhat of a master at amusing my self in these particular situations. Examples: Macy's = test out the vast selection of lazy boys. J Crew = look at socks, they're on top of their game in the sock department.... make up a sock... they've already made it! Juicy = I haven't quite figured out what to do here/ keep my head down and avoid paparazzi maybe. Anthropology = Books! and a good selection too / with places to sit... which brings me to the topic at hand. I grabbed Patrick Blanc's book entitled The Vertical Garden: From Nature to the City. It's fantastic!... he's a true innovator. Upon flipping through the pages I came to the conclusion he's more so a painter, than a landscape designer. I mean it's simple to see especially with the surface approached vertically the work reflects a organic mural much more than an architectural wall garden. Regardless, if your designer, graffiti writer, painter or creative enthusiast there's tons of inspiration between the covers of this book. I highly recommend grabbing it next time you find yourself in anthropology.

You can check out Patrick Blanc's site here for more photos and information on vertical gardening.
